Decibel
Decibel are world leaders in the integration of acoustic instruments and electronics, the interpretation of graphic notations and pioneering digital score formats for composition and performance including the Decibel ScorePlayer for iPad. Decibel is directed by Cat Hope. Louise has been a core artist with Decibel since 2013.
The Sound Collectors Lab
A studio-lab directed by Louise Devenish dedicated to the research, development and creation of new music, with a focus on the percussive arts, various keyboards and intermedial creative practices. We research and develop new modes of music creation, notation and presentation, apply them in collaborative performance works, and critically reflect on these practices and methodologies through public performances, recordings, talks and scholarly publications.
Intercurrent
Artists in Residence at the University of Western Australia, Intercurrent is a contemporary classical chamber music performance project co-directed by Louise Devenish (percussion), Lachlan Skipworth (composition), Emily Green-Armytage (piano) and Ashley Smith (clarinets). Together, the ensemble commissions new Australian music and performs celebrated twentieth music by composers such as Glass, Reich, Pärt and Lutoslawski.
Speak Percussion
Speak Percussion takes percussive art to its physical and conceptual extremes. They shape the sounds of 21st century Australian percussion music through the creation and presentation of ambitious arts projects. Internationally recognised as a leader in the fields of experimental and contemporary classical music, Speak redefines the potential of percussion.
